Today we will discuss about Backlinks.which is the very important part of SEO with which you can increse the traffic to your web site.and you can get good ranking to the search engines like Google,Yahoo,Msn etc.so if we want to give the defination of back link in just one line then we can say “Backlinks is the tool which display other webpages that link to your posts.”
Backlinks will enable you to keep track of other pages on the web that link to your posts. For example, suppose Alice writes a blog entry that Bob finds interesting. then Bob goes to his own blog and writes a post of his own about it, linking back to Alice’s original post. Now Alice’s post will automatically show that Bob has linked to it, and it will provide a short snippet of his text and a link to his post.
Backlinks came into market or on the Internet mostly due to the success of Google. When you performed a search on an early search engine, you might get a large number of pornography sites or sites that sold illegal goods. If you typed in “dog training” into a search engine, then a pornography site that repeated the phrase “dog training” over and over at the bottom of its web page might come up as a top result. Google’s solution to this problem was to pay more attention to the backlinks that a site has.
Backlinks are links somewhere on the Internet that point to your site. When an Internet user clicks on one of these links, they are taken to your site. Google’s insight was that each of those links could be considered a “vote” for the website that it points to. The more votes that a website has, the higher it will show up in the search engines. Today, nearly every major search engine considers backlinks to be an important factor when determining where your site will appear in the search engine results.
